Everyone needs a good binge-watch now and again. Whether it’s crappy weather outside, an illness, pregnancy or post pregnancy or just to escape from current life. Diving into a good series to take your mind of things for a little while can be very therapeutic.

Now, I’m sure if you heard the words “Australian TV Series” you mind would immediately jump to Home & Away or Neighbours and why wouldn’t it? The are both over 30yrs old and still running, but I am here to tell you I have stumbled upon some little treasures definitely worth adding to the Binge watch list.

1. A place to call home

Seasons: 6 (Final season to air 2018)
Years: 2013 – 2018
Genre: Drama
About: Set in the aftermath of World War, the story follows a mysterious woman and family with many secrets to hide.

2. Doctor doctor

Years: 2016 – present
Genre: Drama
About: A high-flying, arrogant heart surgeon’s life is turned upside down when he is forced to return back to his small, rural home town and take up a GP position.

3. please like me

Years: 2013 – 2016
Genre: Comedy / Drama
About: A man in his 20’s realises he is gay after breaking up with his girlfriend. Follows his journey and that of his family and friends.

4. 800 words

Seasons: 3 (Still in production)
Years: 2015 – present
Genre: Drama
About: Following the death of his wife, a single Dad relocates his family from Sydney to Weld, New Zealand. As a writer, he writes a not so flattering article on the town and feels the full wrath of the locals as a result.

About: Focuses on the Australian adoption crisis of the 1960’s and a time where liberties were challenged.

About: Centres around part-time country pub singer Billie and her chance meeting with a rich hotelier where she finds out secrets to her family heritage.

    I hadn’t heard of any of these, but particularly like the sound of ‘A Place To Call Home’. I don’t watch much telly, but I do enjoy ‘Home and Away’.

    I love the sound of 800 words as I think the idea of a male single dad trying his best for his family and the struggles would make for a great watch

    I haven’t heard of any of these but they sound good. I remember being poorly one year and watching Out of the Blue. I think the BBC only showed one or two seasons but I quite enjoyed it!! Thanks for linking up with #Blogstravaganza 🙂
