Things to do these School Holidays in Byron Bay

School holidays are just around the corner and this upcoming break I thought I’d be a little bit more organised. Usually we just ‘wing it’ and take each day as it comes, but with things like work,  projects and appointments, in addition to considering everyone’s needs and what they would like to do over the next 2.5 weeks I thought  I’d cover my bases and have a rough plan this time round.

So, I’ve pulled together a list of things to do these School Holidays… A brain dump of 40 ideas for the kids to choose from. There are 4 categories:

Indoor activities – In case of bad weather or a day where we can’t be bothered leaving the house
Outdoor activities – Fresh air, sunshine, nature… what’s not to love
Outing – Fun activities some that cost money and some that dont
Other – To cover off on workshops, vacations care and other day programs

With over 40 things to do these School Holiday scattered around the Northern Rivers, the Gold Coast (an hour away) or Brisbane (2hrs away) I have to say I am feeling pretty excited. So much so I thought why not share our list and calendar in case anyone else is needing to make a plan too.

Great to start thinking about the school holidays. I usually just do something with the kids to have fun but it’s a great idea to start thinking about it early for a more relaxed time.

I love the ideas that you’ve come up with! I think that creating an obstacle course, rock painting, and doing origami are my favorite indoor ideas to do with the kids. Thanks for these!

Wow, this is so great and I love that there is also a preferred plan for indoor activities just in case of bad weather or any circumstances.

  4. Chastity says:

Outdoor activities are always best to get the kids exhausted. I love doing indoor activities when the weather isn’t the best. So many great options the kids won’t be bored for sure!

It’s definitely a great idea to plan some activities when you have a free family day. We seem to get more done when we do that. Thanks for your tips!
