Living in the beautiful northern NSW region, we’re fortunate enough to be within a stones throw of some of the most amazing places in South East Queensland. The gorgeous beaches, the tranquil waterfalls, the infamous Gold Coast. Oh and of course some of the most amazing family friendly resorts and holiday parks in Australia.
It’s fair to assume that a trip to the Gold Coast and South East Queensland region would be on most people’s bucket lists. Whether it be to visit the theme parks, walk the Boardwalk of Surfer’s Paradise or just to enjoy the warm sunshine that is on offer most the year round, it’s definitely a place to visit.
Having stayed at our fair share of family friendly holiday resorts over the years, we feel pretty clued up on the best ones around. But what kind of people would we be if we didn’t share a few of our favourite finds.
I don’t have to give this one too much introduction. Seaworld is practically an Australian icon and if it’s not on your bucket list, it’s certainly on the kids’ list! I would recommend staying at Seaworld Resort if you’re visiting Seaworld as it’s not only beautiful, but you can get some great accommodation and park deals and save some valuable dollars. Not only that, the convenient location and easy access to Seaworld itself is priceless. Seaworld Resort is kid friendly as you would imagine with on site restaurants, kids parks and playgrounds, a kids club and surprise visits from Nickolodian favourites.
This is a bit of a favourite of ours and we enjoyed a family weekend there not so long ago which I wrote a review on. Basically, if you are looking for something that will blow the kids minds, then this is the place. Their bunk house and family rooms are kid focused with Xbox’s, play stations and multi-coloured bunks! As for the kids entertainment, well they can choose from the water park, kids zone, planet chill, adventure park, rock climbing or the games room just to name a few. And Mums and Dads, don’t worry, you’re totally covered with the outdoor spa, poolside cafe and bar. Just leave the kids at the kids club for a few hours and enjoy some adult time. They’ll have a ball.
When we look for family friendly accommodation we always look for kids clubs because the kids love socialising and we get to enjoy a little ‘us’ time. It’s a win win and that’s why Turtle Beach Resort makes our top 6. It has a great kids club and is an all round family friendly resort. Turtle Beach Resort also wins in the accommodation stakes with self contained apartments from 1 – 4 bedrooms catering for even the largest of family holidays. As far as entertainment goes, it has an amazing water park (with an adults only pool), tennis courts and its own 22 seat on site cinema!
Caravan, Camping, Cabins, Vilas, Motel the Big 4 Gold Coast Holiday Park has it all. Not to mention all the features you come to expect from a Big 4 park, it is centrally located right near all the ever popular theme parks. The holiday park features a water park, buggies for use around the park and of course a kids club! Oh, and if your family holidays include the fur legged friends, this park is also pet friendly.
Just as the name suggests, Treasure Island Holiday Park is a bit of a treasure island in itself. With all the necessary features us parents come to look for in a family friendly holiday park, it ticks all the boxes. This park has all the fun things kids love including water parks, go carts, mini golf, an outdoor cinema and a games room so you can be sure there won’t be a dull moment. Accommodation is also well and truly covered with a range of options from modern villas to their new safari tent if glamping is more your style. Located in the heart of the Gold Coast, it is accessible to all the parks, beaches and only 30 mins from the airport.
Ok, last but by no means least is this little beauty of a website which has the most kid friendly rooms you could ask for in some fabulous self contained apartments. What if I was to tell you that the toys, bedding, bucket and spade for the beach and even the rubber ducky for the bath were all sorted! Holiday Holiday’s Kid Friendly rooms have all that and more making travelling (and packing) with the kids that bit easier.
So, with all those said and done, when are you booking your next family friendly holiday to the sunny Gold Coast?
