Must Watch TV Series (Australia)

9 Must Watch TV Series

So, ‘Baby E’ is 3 weeks old today, which means I am thoroughly exhausted, sleep deprived and feeling the full effects of baby brain. The last few weeks are a blur and have merged together into one very long day. And my best laid plans for the birth & postnatal period have somewhat turned to rubbish. Finding our new grove as a family of 5 has been a little challenging. I know we will get there with a bit more time, especially after one unexpected traumatic/ emergency birth. But, in the mean-time I am on the hunt for an escapism. Something to break up the constant rhythm of feeding, shhhhhing & nappy changes as well as the demands of the house & other 2 wildlings.

I have a pile of books and list of podcasts, vlogs & online courses I’m dying to get to but in all honestly my brain is fried and as much as I want to be productive my brain just refuses. So, what kind of escapism can a mama of 3 get when her youngest is 3 weeks old?…

WELL… I’m thinking, A decent entertaining box set/must watch TV series would be perfect.

Hubby & I are not very big TV watches. We rarely watch free to air and never had Foxtel, Netflix or Stan. The only time I do seem to watch telly is during pregnancy & post birth.

So what to binge watch?

I have not watched any of these. Well, to clarify, I watched Vampire Diaries for a few seasons at the start and then stopped when it got ridiculously convoluted. #AnythingGoes

  2. This Scribbler Mum says:

I like Once Upon a Time Seasons 1-6 not too sure I like season 7 which is a reboot. Suits is also good. Designated Survivor, Jane the Virgin, Episodes, Breaking Bad, Friends. ? #anythinggoes

  3. Tubbs says:

Depends what you like … Line of Duty was amazing and all the seasons are well worth a watch if you like police dramas. If you like Sci-Fi the new Trek is good. Rev T adores Blacklist and recommends that to all and sundry. Happy watching!

  4. jeremy@thirstydaddy says:

Bates Motel is a series that’s run its course but I’ve been singing the praises of to anybody that would listen for the past several years. Its a bit older, but my wife and I also really enjoyed Spartacus and Justified, both fairly cheap to find on Amazon now #anythinggoes

  5. Jenny Curtis says:

Great list, have enjoyed quite a few of them! Someone has beat me to it in recommending Justified, really enjoyed watching that. There’s always The Sopranos if you haven’t seen it, I also really enjoy watching Agents of SHIELD- the series are getting a bit darker and crazier as they go along though! #DreamTeam

  6. Veronica Lee says:

I really enjoyed the Prison Break series. But season 5 wasn’t the same without Alex Mahone!
I am now obsessed with the Waking Dead series.

  7. magicalmamablog says:

My husband and I watched Parenthood during my first Pregnancy…not only were we both crying several times per season, we would pause it several times and talk about what we will do in that situation as parents… It’s an amazing show! Definitely thumbs up in that one!

  8. Mummy & the Mexicans (@ruthhilbrown) says:

I got really into Revenge for a while, but never watched beyond the first or second season – I think I no longer had time for TV then! My husband watches Suits pretty much every night and that’s actually really involving. I love Peaky Blinders but have only got up to about episode 7, and I’ve also been watching Gilmore Girls. #blogstravaganza

  9. Roger Willis says:

My wife and I watched the first season of Vampire Diaries. It was good, and it may be time to get back into watching it. If I knew I could find the complete series of Game of Thrones, I’d get it.

  10. Joanna says:

I have seen quite a few series from your list. Game of Thrones is definitely one of my favorites. I did enjoy Glee a lot as well, it is such a positive, fun series. Downton Abbey actually brought me down to see Highclere Castle. Loved watching the movie in the cinema as well.
